Walk in Truth

blood, human, splatter, dropsImage via Wikipedia
Isaiah 33:15-17

He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from holding of bribes, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from seeing evil;

He shall dwell on high: His place of defence shall be the munitions of rocks: bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure.

Thine eyes shall see the King in his beauty: they shall behold the land that is very far off.

What is a true believer and how is a true believer suppose to act?

In the 15th verse, it reads: He that walks and speaks upright.
What does this mean?

This person would be one who does the right thing and speaks the truth. It would be a person who does not murmur or complain.
One cannot speak one thing and then do another, nor look one way and row the other way.

He shaketh his hands from holding of bribes.......

If we walk in truth, we will not accept bribes from others, or rewards and we will give no thought to riches.
Leaders, especially will not enrich themselves and cause others to fall into hardship.

Meaning of Bribes: money or other valuable consideration given or promised with a view to corrupting the behaviour of a person, especially in that persons performance as an athlete, public official, or other.
Anything given to persuade or induce. gifts given to persuade or induce.

That stopped his ears from hearing Blood:

Meaning of blood: the vital principle of life.
the excitement that got into the very blood of the nation.
A person or group regarded as a source of energy, temperament; state of mind.  Physical nature of human beings.
To become enraged or impassioned: Makes ones blood boil.
Taste blood, to experience a new sensation.... usually a violent or destructive one, and acquire an appetite for it !
sentence:   Once the team had tasted blood, there was no preventing them from winning by a wide margin.

A person who walks in truth will not allow the things of this world to enter into there ears, therefore, it does not get into our minds.
If we are walking in truth, we will stop our ears from hearing cruelty or any thing that is being stirred up for revenge or other reasons.

We are not to be brawlers or backbiters.
How many times have we found ourselves in matters where people are murmuring and complaining about thier neighbor? This is when we need to offer a prayer in thier behalf and refuse to join in on the evil, vain talk.

He that despiseth the gain of oppressions:

Meaning: The exercise of authority or power in a burdensome, cruel, or unjust manner.      The feeling of being heavily burdened, mentally or physically, by troubles, adverse conditions, anxiety, etc.
Cruel or unjust use of power or authority. Action of weighing on someones mind or spirits. To put down or crush.

The true believer also shuts his eyes from evil.
A true believer will watch, so that there is no occasion for sin. He/she cannot bear looking upon sin and will not watch anything sinful.

Stop your ears from temptations as well as your eyes, from seeing vanity.
A person who walks in truth, will see the king of kings and all of his holiness!

When we ask ourselves the question: Am I guilty of any of these?
Do we realize that If we are guilty, we are NOT walking in truth.

Appetite for Destruction

As I was reading my Bible this morning, God took me to the story of Esau.

In Genesis chapter 25: 24-34  it tells of the birth of Esau and Jacob.
Esau and Jacob were twins, but Esau was the oldest. Esau came out of the womb,...........red all over and hairy like a garment.

As they grew older, it speaks of there personalities.

More than enough!

In 2 Chronicles 31.………..It tells how People were bringing tithes and offerings to the temple (church) and their first fruits of everything they had, such as crops, animals, items that they made with there hands, etc.

Hezekiah was the ruler at this time and he was the one who cleaned up this land. He threw away the idols that people had made to worship, that was not of God and he commanded the people to bring their tithes and offerings to the alter, to God.

Among the Sinners

In Mathew 9:10,11, it sais....

And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples.
And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with Publicans and sinners?

The Pharisees did not like the idea that Jesus was eating among the sinners.

Meet God's requirements

Isaiah Chapter 58:

verse 2: Yet they seek me daily, and delight to know my ways, as a nation that did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance of their God: they ask of me the ordinances of Justice; they take delight in approaching to God.

Being a good soldier

In 2 Timothy chapters 1 and 2, Paul speaks to Timothy, (his son) and tells him to be a good soldier or servent of Jesus Christ.
He tells Timothy not to get tangled up into the affairs of this life.

Paul spoke of how he suffered persecutions from others, so that he could obtain his salvation. Paul said that as an evildoer....they suffer and they are bound up but when we are in Christ and obey Gods word, then we are not bound up.

Gratefull Obedience

Proverbs 30:11-17

11. There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother.
12. there is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness.
13. There is a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! and their eyelids are lifted up.
14. There is a generation, whose teeth are as swords, and their jaw teeth as knives, to devour the poor from off of the earth, and the needy from among them.

Keys to Godly living

TAKE HEED:

1.Mathew 6:1 TAKE HEED that ye do not alms before men to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your father which is in Heaven.

A. Luke 11: 41 But rather give alms of such things as ye have; and, behold, all things are clean unto you.
B. Luke 12:33 Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.
C. Luke 18:22 Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.
D. Luke 19:8 And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken anything from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.
E. 1 Cor. 13:3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
F. 2. Mathew 18:10 TAKE HEED that ye despise not one of these little ones: for I say unto you, that in Heaven their angels do always behold the face of my father which is in Heaven.
verse 11 For the Son of Man is come to save that which is lost.
verses 12-14 speaks of the Lost Sheep. Only one of them is lost, But we are to leave the 99 sheep that are safe and go out after the one that is in danger of being devoured by the enemy.

Do we think of the little ones? Who are the little ones?
are they those people who others give no value to?
