Walk in Truth

Isaiah 33:15-17

He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from holding of bribes, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from seeing evil;

He shall dwell on high: His place of defence shall be the munitions of rocks: bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure.

Thine eyes shall see the King in his beauty: they shall behold the land that is very far off.

What is a true believer and how is a true believer suppose to act?

In the 15th verse, it reads: He that walks and speaks upright.
What does this mean?

This person would be one who does the right thing and speaks the truth. It would be a person who does not murmur or complain.
One cannot speak one thing and then do another, nor look one way and row the other way.

He shaketh his hands from holding of bribes.......

If we walk in truth, we will not accept bribes from others, or rewards and we will give no thought to riches.
Leaders, especially will not enrich themselves and cause others to fall into hardship.

Meaning of Bribes: money or other valuable consideration given or promised with a view to corrupting the behaviour of a person, especially in that persons performance as an athlete, public official, or other.
Anything given to persuade or induce. gifts given to persuade or induce.

That stopped his ears from hearing Blood:

Meaning of blood: the vital principle of life.
the excitement that got into the very blood of the nation.
A person or group regarded as a source of energy, temperament; state of mind.  Physical nature of human beings.
To become enraged or impassioned: Makes ones blood boil.
Taste blood, to experience a new sensation.... usually a violent or destructive one, and acquire an appetite for it !
sentence:   Once the team had tasted blood, there was no preventing them from winning by a wide margin.

A person who walks in truth will not allow the things of this world to enter into there ears, therefore, it does not get into our minds.
If we are walking in truth, we will stop our ears from hearing cruelty or any thing that is being stirred up for revenge or other reasons.

We are not to be brawlers or backbiters.
How many times have we found ourselves in matters where people are murmuring and complaining about thier neighbor? This is when we need to offer a prayer in thier behalf and refuse to join in on the evil, vain talk.

He that despiseth the gain of oppressions:

Meaning: The exercise of authority or power in a burdensome, cruel, or unjust manner.      The feeling of being heavily burdened, mentally or physically, by troubles, adverse conditions, anxiety, etc.
Cruel or unjust use of power or authority. Action of weighing on someones mind or spirits. To put down or crush.

The true believer also shuts his eyes from evil.
A true believer will watch, so that there is no occasion for sin. He/she cannot bear looking upon sin and will not watch anything sinful.

Stop your ears from temptations as well as your eyes, from seeing vanity.
A person who walks in truth, will see the king of kings and all of his holiness!

When we ask ourselves the question: Am I guilty of any of these?
Do we realize that If we are guilty, we are NOT walking in truth.
