A Mirror Image

As I was reading the Bible, I came across Exodus chapter 38.

In verse 8: it reads:           And he made the laver of brass, and the foot of it brass, of the looking glasses of the women assembling, which assembled at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

In this chapter, It is speaking about the alter of burnt offering and all of the things that the people offered to God for the building of the tabernacle.

In verse 8, the women gave there mirrors to Moses for use in the tabernacle.

Now................You know how women are today..............We have to look in the mirror to see if our hair is in place and our makeup is not running and so on.

These women were willing to give the mirror up for God.

We know that when we look into the mirror, We see a mirror image of ourselves.

Have you ever reflected on your own image and looked at who you were and what you looked like...........as in your past?

When we keep thinking and looking at our image from the past, We are seeing all of the regret and shame and it has a very powerful way of pulling us back.

When we reflect on our own mirror image, it keeps us from serving God and reflecting upon him the way we are suppose to.

The Devil wants to remind us of our past, so that we get frustrated, angry, unforgiving, and we become tangled up in a web that we cannot get out of unless we call out to God!

God does not look upon our past sins, when we ask for forgiveness, they are washed away and all things become new! He no longer holds those sins against us, so we must forgive ourselves, also.
It is Satan that wants to remind us so often of those things that we are ashamed of.

I have often thought about the saying that I have been told........................."When Satan reminds you of
your past, Remind him of his future!

In Plilippians 3:13    is sais:    Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but his one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth to those things which are before.

If we dwell on the past, We will never be able to take ahold of our future. We have to walk through the door of the past and shut that door so that we may move ahead and focus on our future and all the good things that God has for us.

Are you willing to give God the mirror image of yourself? Are you willing to give God your past?

We need to lay our past at the  foot of the cross and leave it there and NO longer pick it back up!
