Out of the Miry clay

Psalms 40:2

He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.

Definition of Miry: Boggy, swampy, muddy, dirty...

Have you ever went 4 wheeling?

You know how sometimes, there is so much mud and dirt, we get stuck in the mud?
In the 4X4, we put it in 4 wheel drive because that is when the truck is strong, but sometimes we just keep pressing the gas and we keep spinning our wheels, because the mess is so deep that we get stuck.
We keep trying to get out, but find that all were doing is just spinning our wheels, only to find that we are in the mudhole, deeper and deeper.

We press the gas again and our front end jumps up like its going to get out of the mud, and it just rocks forward then we go backwards again. Only to dig into the whole a little deeper than before.

Before long our vehicles will not move because we are so far into the muddy mess that we cannot find our way out, so we have to call out for help.
We have to call on someone who can help us that is stronger than we are.

We became so weak that someone had to come to our rescue.
In verse 2, it sais that God brought us up out of the miry clay and set our feet upon a rock, which is solid ground.

The miry clay bogs us down to where we become so weak that We have to rely on God to bring us out.

He will pull us out of our mess if we call on him. He will free us from the pit that we have fell in.

That 911 call is Jesus and he is coming to my rescue!
