David and Goliath/ Facing the Giants

In 1 Samuel chapter 17, It teaches us about the Isrealites and the Philistines.

In verse 3, it sais.. And the Philistines stood on a mountain on the one side, and Isreal stood on a mountain on the other side: and there was a valley between them.

In verse 4, it sais...And there went out a champion out of the camp of the Philistines, names Goliath, of Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span.

In verse 8, it sais..And he stood and cried unto the Armies of Isreal, and said unto them, Why are you come out to set your battle in array? Am I not a Philistine, and ye servents to Saul? Choose ye a man for you, and let him come down to me.
Verse 9..If he be able to fight with me, and to kill me, then will we be your servants: but if I prevail against him, and kill him, then shall ye be our servants, and serve us..

When the Isrealites heard the words of Goliath, the giant, they were so afraid.
Goliath was 9 feet tall.. That is huge and Im sure they thought that they were already defeated, But along came a little shephard boy named David.

David was actually delivering food to the soldiers, But when he got there, He heard what Goliath was saying to the Isrealites.
David then asked what will be done to the man who kills the Giant?
So the people told him what would happen if the Giant was killed.

Eliab, Davids oldest brother scolded David and asked him why he left his sheep and told him that he was naughty and that he just wanted to be there to watch the battle.
David said " What have I done?"

David told king Saul that he would go up against the Giant.
When Saul heard David say this, he said " You cannot face the Giant, because you are too small and you are just a youth.
But David said to Saul, " Did I not Slay a lion and a Bear?"
David said The Lord had delivered him out of the paws of the Lion and the Bear, and if he could deliver him out of a wild animal, then why could the LOrd not deliver him out of the hand of a Giant.

Saul tried to put his heavy armour upon David, but David did not want it on, because it only weighted him down.
So he took the Armour off and went and gathered 5 smooth stones out of the Brook, and put them in his shephards pouch. His sling was in his hand, and he went up near Goliath.
When David went up to Goliath, The giant said, Am I a dog, that you have come to me with staves? ( his slingshot)
The giant told David that he would feed his flesh to the fowls of the air, and the beasts of the field.

David faced the Giant, and said, you come to me with your sword and spear, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts. He told Goliath that this day, he would be delivered into the hands of hiself(David).

David then smote him in the head with a stone and Goliath fell to the ground and David went to him and took Goliaths own sword and cut his head off.

Do we face giants in our lives that sometimes others tell us that we cannot conquer?
Do you feel like the giants are to big to conquer, also?
With God on our sides, we have nothing to fear, but fear itself.

God is our Rock and we need to rely on him to fight our battles for us.
The Word of God is all the armour we need.. And David had on Gods armour. Gods protection.
When satan tries to defeat us, we must use the Word of God to slay the Giants in our lives.

Sometimes we do not realize the power that God puts into our own hands so that we can defeat our Giants..
When the Word of God is spoke out into the atmosphere, Angels are sent to help us. When Gods word is spoken, all of the universe has to listen!

Start relying on God to take you out of all the trouble that you face, all of the fears that we face.
Are you facing the Giants by allowing God to battle for you?
