I posted an earlier post about United We Stand and talked about how churches tend to cast certain people aside as if they had no value.
As I was reading the Bible today, the Lord brought me to this chapter.
1 Corinthians 12: 11-31
In the beginning of the chapter, it speaks of the gifts that God has given to certain people.
In verse 11......it reads.............
But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.
For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.
For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
For the body is not one member, but many.
If the foot shall say, because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?
And if the ear shall say, because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?
If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling?
But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.
And if they were all one member, where were the body?
But now are they many members, yet one body.
And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.
Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary:
and those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness.
meaning of comely:
of pleasing appearance, attractive, feeble, hence, delicate, proper and suitable
For we our comely parts have we no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked:
meaning of tempered: modified
That there should be no schism (division) in the body: but that the members should have the same care one for another.
And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.
Now ye are the body of Christ and members in particular.
And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healing, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.
Are all apostles? Are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles?
Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak in tongues? do all interpret?
But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.
To my understanding, it takes all sorts of people to make up a body. It doesn't matter if we think that they should not be there..........with Christ, we are all welcome and we all have a work to do, We are all on the same team if we are of Christ.
There will be some people in the church in which we see that they are weak. Maybe they don't see as we see, but we are not to stomp on them and run them out of the church, because God will teach them and when they learn, they may be the very one to bring many, many souls in for Christ, because of the things that they have done and been through.
Acts 20:35 I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.
Romans 14:1-4
Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.
For one believeth that he may eat all things: another who is weak, eateth herbs.
Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him.
Who art thou that judgest another mans servant? to his own master he standeth or faileth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.
It doesn't matter if we think that they are not strong enough to join in with us..... Let God take ahold of them and he will make them strong and he will make them able to stand on there own and they will bring others in to God's Kingdom! We will all be there together in one accord!! Worshipping together.
