Lord, teach us to pray

As I was watching Paula White the other day on TV, The program was about prayer.

The guest speaker was Suzette Caldwell.

As they were talking, Suzette began to explain how Prayer can change your life.

In Luke 11:1..........And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.

And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.

Give us this day, our daily bread.

And forgive our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory forever, amen

As Suzette spoke, she explained what this meant.
It is to pray in an order.

Your 1st paragraph should be:
To praise God first. Establish a relationship with him and acknowledge him as your father and let him know just how much you love him.
As parents, we want our children to come to us and tell us how much they love us.. It is uplifting to us and God is this way also, because we are his children.

We need to come into intimate praise and worship with him.

The 2nd paragraph is to declare his will in our lives. Speak his word.

The 3rd paragraph is to make a request unto God.  It sais in the bible to let your request be made known unto God. Ask him for your needs and be specific.
When our children come to us, they are very specific in what they want from us, so that is the way we must approach God.

The 4th paragraph is to ask for forgiveness, ...........as we forgive others who have wronged us in some way or another.
The 5th paragraph is to pray for Gods protection over our lives, that we may be delivered from evil.
Satan is out there roaming to and fro, seeking whom he may devour and this is why we need Gods protection.
The 6th paragraph is Kingdom praise and worship.
Honor God in all your worship. For he is the one who brings us out and delivers us and heals us!

In Mathew 6:5- 13               It also teaches us about direction for our prayer.

Verse 5:    And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are; for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have there reward.
Verse 6:   But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to the Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward the openly.
Verse 7:   But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
The meaning of vain repetitions is to repeat something over and over.
I think, if we ask of God, once, we should have the faith that we know, that God will answer our prayers.

Verse 8:   Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father Knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask of him.

In 1 John 5: 14-15.........And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us.
And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

As I was watching this program, I was reminded of an earlier program on Sid Roth, where this lady was teaching us how to get into that intimate worship with God, so we can learn how to have our prayers answered. This really stuck with me and I do believe.................. NO.............. I know that God wants us to learn how to pray in order to have the things that he has promised us.
